Why not work smarter rather than harder. Take advantage of open enrollment to collect data, select your ambassadors, and expose your leadership. With these three strategies in place you are sure to be off to great start with your corporate wellness program.
1. Use a vendor that can manage the data you collect during open enrollment. Ask questions up front to make sure your vendor can provide aggregate data of all biometric screenings and HRA’s. The EEOC has regulations in place for violations against the ADA,ACA, and GINA. Are you compliant? During this process you can also collect data to help shape your wellness program. Use a questionnaire that takes a needs assessment from all levels of leadership and employees. Find out what your people want and what they value.
2. Select your wellness ambassadors during your open enrollment period. Find those people in your organization that are already passionate about health and wellness. Let them spread the word about your wellness program and get others interested.
3. Get your leadership exposure during open enrollment. This is a critical step to ensure the validity and importance of your program. Send out personal communication from your leadership encouraging participation. Have the leadership team be the first to go through the process, and take plenty of pictures. Post them in high traffic areas and all communications. Have fun with it, and get creative.
